121. DECLARATION OF MEMBERS INTEREST
No declarations were made for this meeting.
122. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of the meeting held on 5th December,
2012 were confirmed and signed by the
Chairman.
123. Bor. Cllr. JOHN IZETT
Concern for the proposed one-way system during the
Knightsbridge road repairs from April
2012 to May 2013. Working hours to be
restricted to reduce the effect on neighbours during the evening and night. The presence of bats and North American
Crayfish also to be considered. All of
which will prolong the project on an already busy road with further concern for
rat running through the villages. Hampshire County Council and the local MP will
be asked for support.
Borough Councillors are in the process of electing a new
Leader following the resignation of Cllr. Finney.
Recommendation made to maintain the After School Funding –
no decision reached yet.

126. PLAYGROUND
The hedge has been dug out and burned on site; the fir tree
canopy needs to be raised; more work to
be done on the fence followed by a general tidying of the site.
Comments received from Mike Ditch and Noel Preece (BDBC) on
the proposed play equipment which will be reviewed for a final decision next
meeting.
127. TREE SURGERY QUOTATIONS

128. COMMUNITY RESILIENCE PLAN
St. Michael’s Roman Catholic School and Burghclere Primary
School have been approached for inclusion in the plan. The Clere School has an emergency plan in place.
129. HM QUEEN ELIZABETH’S DIAMOND JUBILEE
A programme of various events is proposed involving local
organisations. The Church of the Ascension will hold a special
service on the Sunday evening. Locally
made mugs are being considered for selling to residents.
130. DISABLED PARKING
Two disabled parking spaces have been created on tarmac to
the side of the Portal Hall.

132. SPORTS CLUB REPRESENTATIVE
REPORT
The
Sports Club would like to be involved with the Jubilee celebrations.
133. CLERK’S REPORT
During
the Christmas break Bewley Homes arranged for private contractors to clear
blocked pipes in the stream to the rear of Cobbett’s View and Ayres Lane. Thames Water have been informed and they will
investigate the possibility of tree roots causing damage to their pipes and
consequential blockages.
Fly-tipping
of asbestos on Burghclere Common reported and cleared.
Danny
Brown will continue the ground maintenance on the triangle during 2012.
The
